The Future is Under Control
Alex Murphy has been resurrected – again. Backed by Amazon, the future series is making progress as both Peter Ocko and James Wan step aboard.
Protect and Serve
Robocop has seen a resurgence in popularity in the past few years. First, there was the video game adaptation in 2023, and now fans are getting a series about the chrome dome cop. The series is set to have James Wan as the executive producer (Saw) under his Atomic Monster label and Peter Ocko (The Leftovers) as showrunner. Not much is known about the series except that it will follow tech conglomerate OCP as it introduces its robot enforcer technology to the men in blue.
Whether this will be another retelling of Murphy’s resurrection and revenge or an entirely new story is up in the air.
Uphold the Law
As originally reported by Deadline last year, Amazon acquired MGM Studios. Robocop is just one of many IPs with plans for the future. Other franchises include Barbershop and Legally Blonde. On a side note, this will not be the first time Robocop appears on the small screen. That honor belongs to Robocop (1994), which starred Richard Eden as Alex Murphy and ran for only one season. There were also two animated iterations of the metal cop prior to that.

A lover of gore and over the top violence, no movie can make my stomach squirm. The only thing better than a bloody death scene is a well choreographed stunt. Whether it be action or horror, if it has blood in it, then I've likely already seen it. |
