The Story Promises To Celebrate Female Power, Joy, and Mentorship

Fans of the Princess Diaries films can rejoice because a director for the third installment has been announced: Adele Lim.

Self-Professed Diehard Fan

According to Deadline, Lim is a self-professed ardent admirer of the film that kickstarted the series and is therefore elated to bring the latest chapter to life. She said, “As a diehard fan of the original Princess Diaries, I’m beyond excited to be a part of bringing the third iteration of this beloved franchise to life. We look forward to celebrating its core tenets of female power, joy, and mentorship with audiences worldwide.”

Furthermore, she achieved box office success by writing the rom-com Crazy Rich Asians (2018), which generated $174 million domestically and was lauded numerous awards, including a Critics Choice Award.

Lim’s next big career move kicked off in 2023 with the creation of a production company: 100 Tigers. Formed with her producing partner Naia Cucukov, this venture has already been making waves in Hollywood, as it has projects in the works with mega studios like HBO Max, Amazon/MGM, and ABC.
