‘Ready or Not’ Sequel Brings Back Samara Weaving

Here Comes the Bride Again

A highly anticipated follow-up to the critically acclaimed horror-comedy Ready or Not is officially in the works. The film will reunite its leading star, Samara Weaving, with the directing duo Radio Silence.

Ready or Not

Ready or Not follows Grace, played by Weaving, a young bride who marries into the ultra-wealthy and mundane Le Domas family, who have amassed a fortune through board games. What starts as a well-crafted wedding night takes an unusual turn for the worst when Grace must participate in the family’s ballistic tradition: a deadly game of hide-and-seek. The rules are laid out, and she must hide while the rest of the family tracks her down using ancient weapons. The film is drenched with dark humor, relevant social commentary on affluence and succession, and violent sequences. Ready or Not brings a fresh perspective on the horror and dark comedy genres.

Here I Come

The bride is set for another round of deadly games. The critically acclaimed horror-comedy Ready or Not is gearing up for a highly anticipated sequel.

Weaving will reprise her role as Grace Le Domas. Alongside her, the creators and directors of Radio Silence—a duo that includes directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, along with producers Justin Martinez and Chad Villellaare—are gearing up to bring their signature blend of horror and humor once again to theaters.

Ready or Not was a hit when it was released in 2019, offering an original take on what being a “final girl” personifies. According to Variety, “Yet, it earned $28 million domestically, becoming Searchlight’s biggest release in 2019. The movie was forecasted to make only $8–12 million, so its success was a pleasant surprise, and it was praised for its social commentary and unique storyline.” Audiences were driven by its outrageous premise, which elevated the film into a league of its own as a slasher film. The film’s all-star cast, involving Adam Brody, Andie MacDowell, and Henry Czerny, further explains its status as a cult classic in the making.
