Do Penguins Have Feathers?
A trailer for the newest entry in the legendary stop-motion cartoon Wallace & Gromit has dropped. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl is set to premiere at AFI Fest this October 27, followed by a January 3 release on Netflix.
Teaching an Old Dog New Tricks
Just in time for Halloween, the newest entry in this showcase of British culture will follow the pair as they deal with a figure from their past with a bone to pick. Things are made even more complicated by the fact that Wallace has started to use his inventions as a crutch. By now, long-time fans may already have an idea as to who the putrid villain may be for the duo’s latest adventure. That’s right: Feathers McGraw will be making a return after having last appeared in the short The Wrong Trousers, which first aired back in 1993. What makes this particular villain so unforgettable is the utter adorableness juxtaposed with the penguin’s detestable criminal behavior. The duo’s original creator will be sharing the director seat with Merlin Crossingham. Interestingly enough, these two previously worked together on Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
With their proven chemistry, this latest entry should live up to fan expectations.
Taste of What’s to Come
The trailer certainly leans into the Halloween spirit, with some organ music playing to start things off. The central premise is quickly revealed as Wallace is framed for a series of crimes. Gromit will be playing a major role in proving his master and friend’s innocence. Furthermore, it seems as though a gnome will be the key to all these hijinks. The list of talent lending their voices to this adventure includes Ben Whitehead, Peter Kay, Lauren Patel, and many more. Whitehead is a particularly important name, considering he has taken over the role of Wallace since Peter Sallis, the original voice for the lovable inventor, retired and died in 2017. In addition to this being Whitehead’s first time voicing the character in a feature-length film (his first time being for Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death, a 29-minute short), this is also the first feature-length Wallace & Gromit film since 2005’s Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

A lover of gore and over the top violence, no movie can make my stomach squirm. The only thing better than a bloody death scene is a well choreographed stunt. Whether it be action or horror, if it has blood in it, then I've likely already seen it. |
