When Prey Becomes Predator
The trailer for Universal’s Wolf Man has officially dropped. It features Christopher Abbott (Poor Things, It Comes at Night) as a father trying to protect his family from a horrific monster.
What Happens in the Trailer?
According to Deadline, the scintillating horror trailer introduces Blake (Abbott), the sole inheritor of his childhood home in Oregon after his father mysteriously disappears. Blake’s career-driven wife, Charlotte, played by the talented Julia Garner (Ozark), agrees to leave the city behind for a much-needed respite at a farmhouse alongside their young daughter, Ginger, portrayed by Matilda Firth.
As the family approaches their rural getaway at night, they are suddenly attacked by a frightening animal. In their desperate attempt to protect themselves, they take refuge inside the farmhouse. However, their threats extend beyond the lurking predator; Blake begins to exhibit strange behavior, transforming into something terrifying. Charlotte must grapple with whether her husband is still the man she knows, and which danger poses the greatest threat to their family.

Who’s Behind It?
Deadline reports that director Leigh Whannell is diving back into the world of Universal Monsters with this project. Before this, Whannell’s other Blumhouse ventures included The Invisible Man, Upgrade, and Insidious: Chapter 3.
Leigh Whannell and Corbett Tuck, along with Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo (Dumb Money), penned the script. The powerhouse production team includes Blumhouse founder and CEO Jason Blum and Ryan Gosling (The Fall Guy), with executive producers Leigh Whannell, Beatriz Sequeira, Mel Turner, and Ken Kao.The film also stars Sam Jaeger (The Handmaid’s Tale), Ben Prendergast (The Sojourn Audio Drama), and Benedict Hardie (The Invisible Man).
Wolf Man is set to be released on January 17, 2025.
