‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ Poster Released

The Second Shift Begins

Blumhouse spared no expense this year during their New York Comic Con panel. One of the biggest reveals was the poster for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, the sequel to last year’s hit film.

‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ Poster

The poster for the upcoming horror film Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 has been unveiled! The poster can be seen here courtesy of Blumhouse’s official X account. The reveal came during Blumhouse’s New York Comic Con panel, where they unveiled other projects such as M3GAN 2.0 and the original film Drop. However, given Five Nights at Freddy’s massive fandom, it became the biggest reveal during the panel.

The poster depicts Toy Freddy from the 2014 game sequel peeking out behind a curtain. Despite being hidden in shadows, his design is highly accurate to the game. The film will be released in theaters on December 5, 2025, from Blumhouse and Universal.

Continuing Blumhouse’s Franchise

With Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 over a year away, details are sparse for the film. It is known that director Emma Tammi, actors Matthew Lillard and Josh Hutcherson, and the Jim Henson Company will return for the production.

The game the second film is based on focuses on a larger location than the first film and game. The location introduces new characters such as Balloon Boy and the Puppet who help build on the series’ mythos.

The original Five Nights at Freddy’s film was one of the biggest surprise hits in cinema. Despite being a video game adaptation released amid the actor’s strike it was a commercial success and even surpassed The Marvels at the box office. With the iconic Jim Henson Company work on the film, many fans praised its special effects and atmosphere.

The Franchise’s Scale

While many indie games such as Undertale and Cuphead spawned massive online fanbases, few have reached the cultural impact of Scott Cawthon’s Five Nights at Freddy’s. Since Markiplier released his first playthrough, it quickly became an internet phenomenon. Many fan creations, such as The Living Tombstone’s song featured in the film’s credits, also went viral.

The game spawned many sequels, such as the original Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 and the Security Breach. Furthermore, the franchise is widely credited for popularizing the “mascot horror” genre, a subgenre centered around kid’s shows and franchises gone dark. Overall, this upcoming sequel will further expand the series’ legacy once the film is released on December 5, 2025.
