Season 5 Premieres in 2025
Stranger Things premiered eight years ago and will conclude in 2025. Despite its sustained success, Netflix has called for a final season of the pop culture phenomenon.
Teaser Trailer
As it does with most of its highly anticipated titles, Netflix has begun its advertisement campaign months in advance releasing information little by little. The trailer this week takes a simple approach with its minute-long runtime. Once the chilling, self-titled theme song is cued, the names of episodes from the final season begin to flash. The series has been somewhat consistent with the number of episodes in each season. Seasons 1 and 3 feature eight chapters, while Seasons 2 and 4 each carry nine. In order, Season 5’s episodes are titled “The Crawl,” “The Vanishing of…,” “The Turnbow Trap,” “Sorcerer,” “Shock Jock,” “Escape From Camazotz,” “The Bridge,” and “The Rightside Up.” Fans have already noted the series finale, “The Rightside Up,” contrasts the title of the Season 1 finale, “Chapter Eight: The Upside Down.”
Fans have already noted the series finale, “The Rightside Up,” contrasts the title of the Season 1 finale, “Chapter Eight: The Upside Down.” The trailer has performed well thus far, with two million views on the official Stranger Things YouTube page. Months ago, the page also featured exclusive behind-the-scenes looks at filming for the final season. Netflix India has also received half a million views for the same trailer published on its page.
The Show’s Success
The Netflix original has succeeded in winning 113 of its 324 nominations across various award shows. Of the series’s 57 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, the cast and crew for the show were able to secure 12 wins. Five of the 12 wins came from the efforts during Season 4 where it was recognized for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup and Outstanding Music Supervision. The highest-rated episode for the season, “Chapter Seven: The Massacre at Hawkins Lab,” won its Emmy for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (One Hour).
