Part of the Star-Studded Lineup in an Eight-Episode Series
HBO has set its sights on Poorna Jagannathan for its latest DC Comics project. According to Deadline, Jagannathan will take part in an eight-episode series that showcases the infamous Green Lantern. She will appear alongside other popular actors, including Kelly Macdonald, Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, and Garret Dillahunt.
What Is Jagannathan’s Role?
The HBO series, helmed by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, features a storyline with a brand new team member: John Stewart (Pierre). Green Lantern’s iconic Hal Jordan (Chandler) is there to support him, in addition to two cosmic cops who must solve a disturbing murder on Earth’s terrain. Inside the murder mystery, Jagannathan portrays the confident yet cunning Zoe, who is rumored to be a potential romantic partner for John according to Deadline. Macdonald is expected to portray Sheriff Kerry, a love interest for Hal. Finally, Dillahunt is William Macon, an urban cowboy.
HBO, alongside Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios, is producing the project. In addition, the showrunner is Mundy, and the executive producing team consists of Lindelof and King. Lindelof and King also serve as co-writers for the series. Furthermore, James Hawes has been tapped for the premiere episode and will serve as executive producer alongside the talented trio.

Besides the critically acclaimed Never Have I Ever, Jagannathan is involved in high-profile TV series like Hulu’s Deli Boys. However, her talents don’t just extend to the TV realm, as she has had notable turns in films like Apple’s Wolves. A highly sought-after and versatile actress, she continues to build on her impressive resume, with each role showcasing her ability to bring depth and complexity to her characters. Jagannathan is quickly becoming a prominent figure in both television and film. She is represented by Gersh, Untitled, and Hansen Jacobson Teller.
