Survive or Succumb?
After a diverse slate of projects in 2024, Dylan O’Brien has a new film on his roster. O’Brien will star opposite Rachel McAdams in horror director Sam Raimi’s upcoming thriller Send Help, according to Deadline.
A Survival Horror Thriller
From 20th Century Studios comes Send Help, a horror thriller Raimi will produce and direct. The film is based on an original script from Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the writers of Baywatch. Send Help will be Raimi’s first directorial work since he helmed Doctor Stange in the Multiverse of Madness. This project will be his first venture back into the horror genre since Drag Me to Hell was released in 2009.
According to Deadline, Send Help, “is a survival horror thriller about two colleagues who become stranded on a deserted island, the only survivors of a plane crash.
On the island, they must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, it’s a battle of wills and wits to make it out alive.” The film is expected to be released theatrically, though no release or production start date has been announced.
O’Brien’s Recent Projects
O’Brien was busy during 2024 with a diverse set of projects. The Maze Runner lead appeared in Ponyboi, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. He then went on to star in M. Night Shyamalan’s Caddo Lake. Most notably, O’Brien appeared in Jason Reitman’s biopic of the first broadcast of Saturday Night Live titled Saturday Night, where O’Brien appeared as young Dan Aykroyd. The actor played a role in and served as an executive producer for Twinless, which will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this year.
