Season 6 Will Mark the Final Season of ‘Solar Opposites’
After five seasons, Hulu’s Solar Opposites is nearing its end. The streaming platform has announced that the upcoming sixth season, set to premiere this fall, will be its last.
What Is ‘Solar Opposites’?
Solar Opposites is an adult animated series that is executive-produced by Mike McMahan, Josh Bycel, and Sydney Ryan. It is produced by 20th Television Animation. It premiered with two seasons and gradually expanded over the years. According to Deadline, the show follows a family of four aliens and their pet as they adjust to life on Earth. The older aliens Korvo (Dan Stevens) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) despise their new home, viewing it as a cesspool of pollution, consumerism, and human weakness. In contrast, the younger aliens Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) embrace Earth’s entertainment, indulging in TV, junk food, and other earthly pleasures. By Season 5, Korvo and Yumyulack are married, and the entire family begins focusing on family values.
Despite its absurd premise, the show has earned a dedicated following, blending sci-fi chaos with humorous social commentary.
Sixth Season
According to Deadline, Hulu announced on Tuesday that Solar Opposites will end with its sixth season, which is set to premiere this fall. However, an official release date has not yet been revealed. As the series approaches its conclusion, Hulu has promised fans they will “witness the wild chaos of this unhinged alien family as they get into hilarious mischief, all while the final chapter of an epic drama unfolds for the shrunken people they’ve imprisoned in their Wall. As the Solar Opposites navigate their unforgettable farewell, expect laugh-out-loud surprises at every turn.” To make the final season even more exciting, several guest stars will appear, including Tiffany Haddish, Kieran Culkin, Christina Hendricks, Ken Marino, Alfred Molina, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, and Beck Bennett.
