Jennifer Meets Jennette
As first reported by Deadline, Jennifer Aniston is set to star in Apple TV+‘s I’m Glad My Mom Died, which is based on Jennette McCurdy’s memoir of the same name. The memoir follows her life as a young child star and her complicated relationship with her abusive mother, who passed away in 2013. Aniston has been confirmed to be playing McCurdy’s mother in the TV series.
Is it Bad to be Glad?
McCurdy wrote a tell-all memoir about her childhood as a child actress with her mother acting in the role of her manager or momager. In the memoir, she details how her mother would put severe restrictions on her diet and even have weigh-ins. This would lead to her developing multiple eating disorders, such as anorexia and bulimia. The memoir also makes references to Dan Schneider. Although his name is not explicitly stated, McCurdy does refer to an individual by the name of The Creator. Schneider was the showrunner for both iCarly and Sam & Cat, among numerous other Nickelodeon shows and movies spanning from the early 90s to the late 2010s.
Work Horse
Aside from starring in the show, Aniston will also serve as the executive producer through her film production company, Echo Films. Deadline reports that Aniston still plans on working on her other project, The Morning Show, which she heads alongside her co-star Reese Witherspoon. That show is gearing up for its season four premiere this fall and, depending on ratings, may even go on for a fifth season. McCurdy’s show has been greenlit for ten episodes.
Stay Tuned…
As of now, there is no estimated release date planned for the show. McCurdy’s memoir was released in August 2022 and made waves due to the shocking bombshells revealed in her memoir.

A lover of gore and over the top violence, no movie can make my stomach squirm. The only thing better than a bloody death scene is a well choreographed stunt. Whether it be action or horror, if it has blood in it, then I've likely already seen it. |
