Venice Filming
A recent vacation and wedding spot for celebrities, Venice, Italy, will be seeing another group of celebrities in August. Venice mayor Luca Zaia announced on social media over the weekend that Netflix’s series Emily in Paris will be filming in August. The series will be filming part of Season 5 in Venice from August 15 to August 25. Filming will wrap up two days before the Venice Film Festival kicks off. The film festival has been a significant event in the city since 1932. The city of Venice has attracted big film and television productions in recent years. Netflix officially announced the start of filming on July 2. This is the first time that a season of the show will partly take place outside of Paris.
‘Emily in Paris’ Season 5
Season 5 of the romantic comedy series sees Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) trying to pursue her relationship with fashion expert Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) while also balancing the challenge of running the Italian branch of the French marketing company Agence Grateau in Rome.
Though the season will be taking place in Italy, the series creator Darren Starr has stated that the show is expected to move back to the French capital. Collins and Franceschini are joined by cast members Minnie Driver, Michele Laroque, and Bryan Greenberg this season. This is the first season of Emily in Paris in which the main character does not reside in Paris for the entire season. Emily Cooper will be taking over Rome for Season 5. The season will premiere late 2025 to early 2026.
The Paris Romance Plot
Darren Starr created Emily in Paris for the streaming giant Netflix. The series is about an American marketing executive named Emily Cooper. Cooper, trying to prove a point to a French marketing firm, moves to Paris. As she takes on life in a new country, she has to overcome challenges in work, friendship, and relationships. The series premiered in 2020 and currently has 4 seasons with Season 5 on the way. Season 4 was the first season that Netflix released in two parts. The streaming company has not announced if Season 5 will be released in the two-part format.
