‘Goosebumps: The Vanishing’ First Teaser From Disney+ and Hulu

Prepared to be Terrified as R.L. Stine’s Books Come to Life

“It’s for the greater good,” new star David Schwimmer (Friends) says as his face is framed in splashing black liquid. Appropriately released on beloved Goosebumps writer R.L. Stone’s 82 birthday, Disney+ and Hulu shared the first teaser for Season 2 of the Goosebumps anthology series. Moreover, the trailer revealed the official subtitle for Season 2, Goosebumps: The Vanishing, and showed fans what to expect from Schwimmer.

A Tease of What’s to Come

Fans of Stine’s Goosebumps series can rejoice as Season 2 of the Goosebumps anthology gets its first teaser. Additionally, along with revealing the title of the second season, the teaser gives a first look at feature actor Schwimmer. Furthermore, the season will feature elements from Stine’s books Stay Out of the Basement, The Haunted Car, Monster Blood, The Girl Who Cried Monster, The Ghost Next Door, and Welcome to Camp Nightmare. Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman developed the show alongside showrunner Hilary Winston.

The official synopsis for the season explains, “The new story begins with Devin and Cece, fraternal twins adjusting to life with their recently divorced dad, Anthony. When the duo discovers a threat stirring, they quickly realize that dark secrets are among them, triggering a chain of events that unravel a profound mystery. As they delve into the unknown, Devin, Cece, and their friends — Alex, CJ, and Frankie — find themselves entangled in the chilling tale of four teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994.” Schwimmer plays Anthony Brewer, the father of the twins. Additionally, Jayden Bartels (Side Hustle) plays Cece and Sam McCarthy (Dead to Me) plays Devin. Ana Ortiz, Elijah M. Cooper, Galilea La Salvia, Francesca Noel, and Stony Blyden star alongside them.

The Start of the Beloved Anthology

Both seasons of the anthology were developed and run by Letterman, Stoller, and Winston. Season 1 of Goosebumps was released as a ten-episode series on October 13, 2023. Furthermore, Adopting a serialized anthology-style over the episodic anthology format of the original Goosebumps anthology TV series, each season follows a new cast of characters while still featuring monsters created by Stine.

Moreover, The first season follows a group of five high schoolers who unleash supernatural forces upon their town as they investigate the tragic passing of teen Harold Biddle who passed three decades earlier. Furthermore, It premiered as part of the “Hallowstream” and “Huluween” streaming blocks. Season 1 starred Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Miles McKenna, Ana Yi Puig, Will Price, Rachel Harris, and Justin Long. 

Goosebumps: The Vanishing premieres January 10 on Disney+ and Hulu.
