A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead (2024) Official Saber Interactive Trailer
Players Will Need To Tip-Toe To This Latest Release
Viewers left hungry for more after A Quiet Place: Day One won’t have to wait too long. The A Quiet Place saga returns this October with a video game adaptation, The Road Ahead.
A Quiet Place Gets A Game
According to an article from Bloody Disgusting, the release date for the upcoming A Quiet Place game, The Road Ahead, was finally revealed. The survival horror game will be released on October 17th for PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows. Horror specialists Stormind Games developed the title while it was published by Saber Interactive, who specialize in IP-based games such as World War Z and Ghostbusters. The trailer itself showcased several facets of the gameplay loop and core mechanics. The Road Ahead follows asthmatic college student Alex, trying to survive the end of the world alongside her boyfriend and the rest of her family.
Going on The Road Ahead
From the trailer released, the game appears to be a solid horror title that takes full advantage of the series’ mythos. As one might expect from the series, this stealth game involves staying as quiet as possible to evade the Death Angels. Fans of Alien: Isolation and other survival horror games will gravitate to this title. Given the nature of the film saga, this opens up many opportunities for unique stealth mechanics and gameplay tools based on sound. Additionally, adding VR to the game could create a gripping horror experience. Lastly, the main protagonists’ asthma is presented as a gameplay mechanic, so this will be an interesting piece of disability rep in gaming.
A Sci-Fi Franchise
The release of this game signifies that A Quiet Place is becoming a full franchise. This summer, Paramount released A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel exploring ground zero of the universe’s apocalypse and showcasing more characters and stories. The Death Angels have already become iconic horror monsters with their invincible stats and cleverly written weaknesses. By the end of this game, fans will have more pieces of lore to scour over and theorize about. With Part III along the way, the franchise could go to many places afterward.
