Kendrick’s Directorial Debut is a Terrifying Crime Thriller
A chilling film that tells the true story of the Dating Game Killer Rodney Alcala and the 1970s crime spree that followed, Woman of the Hour will appear on the small screen in just a few weeks. The terrifying thriller that originally premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year is Anna Kendrick’s (Pitch Perfect) feature directorial debut.
Woman of the Hour is Based on a True Story
Written by Ian McDonald (Some Freaks) and directed by Kendrick, Woman of the Hour appears as horrifying as the true story it’s based on. Furthermore, the film has already received one win for director Kendrick in the Directors to Watch category at the Palm Springs International Film Festival this year. Along with Kendrick who stars as Sheryl Bradshaw, Daniel Zovatto (It Follows) plays serial killer Rodney Alcala. Additionally, Tony Hale, Nicolette Robinson, Autumn Best, Kathryn Gallagher, Kelley Jakle, and Pete Holmes also appear in the cast. AGC Studios, Vertigo Entertainment, and BoulderLight Pictured produced the film.

Moreover, the movie synopsis teases the terrifying film: “The stranger-than-fiction story of an aspiring actress in 1970s Los Angeles and a serial killer in the midst of a yearslong murder spree, whose lives intersect when they’re cast on an episode of The Dating Game.”
