First Look at the New Series
Although Keira Knightley has slowed down in her movie appearances, she has undertaken a new television series, Black Doves. Knightley has already enjoyed television success in her ongoing show, The Sound Collector.
‘Black Doves’
Black Doves is slated for a December 5 release with all six series episodes available that day. Along with releasing images of the show, Netflix has also begun posting a 21-second teaser trailer, showing Knightley covered in blood with an ominous voiceover playing. The show centers around Helen (Knightley), a spy leading a double life who faces exposure when her lover is murdered. Furthermore, other details for the show are limited, as Netflix continues its teaser campaign. Sarah Lancashire, Ben Whishaw, Andrew Koji, and Andrew Buchan will join Knightley on the new thriller. Black Doves will serve as the creator Joe Barton’s fifth television effort, with a sixth series of his already in the works. Additionally, Barton Is best known for Girl/Haji and The Lazarus Project. Barton also works in film, writing the screenplay for Netflix’s popular 2024 release, The Union.

Netflix in December
Black Doves joins Netflix’s packed lineup to end the year. Also premiering in December are That Christmas (December 4), A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter (December 5), Maria (December 11), Carry On (December 13), Season 7 of The Dragon Prince (December 19), and The Six Triple Eight (December 20th), starring Kerry Washington. Moreover, That Christmas is an animated film based on the best-selling series of children’s books by filmmaker Richard Curtis. Additionally, The Six Triple Eight, directed by Tyler Perry, follows 855 women who joined the war effort to fix the three-year backlog of undelivered mail. A day after Christmas, Season 2 of Squid Game will premiere, looking to improve on one of Netflix’s biggest hits to date. The second season comes to fans after more than three years since its original debut.
