Thufferin’ Thuccotash! A New Looney Tunes Movie is Coming

Looney Tunes Are Back in Action in a New Film!

Looney Tunes are back to steal the show with their latest movie, The Day the Earth Blew Up. This time, the spotlight shines on fan favorites Daffy Duck and Porky Pig.

Duck Season? No, Movie Season

Warner Bros. Animation’s The Day the Earth Blew Up was originally created for the Max streaming platform. Deadline stated that after its successful world premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June, the film garnered significant attention, leading Ketchup Entertainment to acquire the rights. Before its global release, the movie will be showcased in North America at the Animation Is Film Festival on October 18, where it will officially qualify for the Best Animated Feature Oscar race. Directed by Peter Browngardt, the film follows fan-favorite characters Daffy Duck and Porky Pig as they embark on a thrilling adventure to stop an alien invasion threatening to take over Earth.

Eh…What’s up, Ketchup Entertainment?

According to Deadline, during an interview Ketchup Entertainment CEO Gareth West expressed his excitement about bringing the new Looney Tunes film to audiences.

“For generations, the Looney Tunes have held a special place in the hearts of fans around the world, including mine,” he shared. “It’s a true pleasure to bring Peter Browngardt’s hilariously smart, emotional, and beautifully crafted story to theaters. Fans and moviegoers of all ages will get to experience an entirely new and original cinematic adventure with our beloved characters, Porky and Daffy.”

Distributed by Ketchup Entertainment and produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the movie was written by a talented team including Darrick Bachman, Browngardt, Kevin Costello, Andrew Dickman, David Gemmill, Alex Kirwan, Ryan Kramer, Jason Reicher, Michael Ruocco, Johnny Ryan, and Eddie Trigueros. Sam Register and Browngardt serve as executive producers.

Unlike Coyote vs. Acme, which was pulled from theaters, The Day the Earth Blew Up is set to see a theatrical release, offering fans a fresh new adventure with the Looney Tunes. The Day the Earth Blew Up will be released in theaters on February 28, 2025.
